Alessandra

I was born in 1987 in Mestre, have a Master Degree in Philology and Italian Literature at Ca’ Foscari University (Venice), and held my PhD in Italian Studies at Ca’ Foscari University. Before starting my research career, I worked as press officer, promoter and social media copywriter in the humanities trying to bring my personal interests into this jobs, especially my passion for literature, writing, music, singing and experimental music.
My artistic and research interests are in the 20th century and the contemporary time through multiple ways; I have always been fascinated by the intersection of different artistic languages. I put my experience into practice to generate new spaces of freedom for affecting both my own way and the public reception.

Arts Cultures

My background is the ‘Spritz Letterario’, an activist cultural collective of Liceo Scientifico U. Morin in Mestre, the Festivaletteratura of Mantova and Radio Ca’ Foscari. There, I was radio speaker and co-curator of programmes. Since 2011, I have been part of the editorial staff of the lit-blog ‘Poetarum Silva’. From 2011 to 2020, I was part of the editorial staff of the lit-blog “Poetarum Silva.” From 2015 to 2020, I handled the communication for the cultural association Live Arts Cultures, dedicated to the performing arts (movement, research-based music, performance art). I have also collaborated with the association quarantaduelinee | circolazione culturale and the blog «Strisciarossa». I currently publish articles and reviews for «Limina rivista» and other outlets.
As a lyricist, improviser, vocal researcher and performer I have taken part in numerous projects. I collaborate with Vertical Waves Project, a vertical dance company, and with Enrico Coniglio, Solar Plex and Lietoofine on electronic music projects.

I have a solo original-music project in which I sing my own songs and play the loopstation, born out of my experience with Irene Brazzolotto and our duo TW/Two Women.

Awards

A sequence of my poems was published in the Secondo repertorio di poesia contemporanea (Arcipelago itaca 2018), and in 2021 my poetry collection Le spalle al mare was released.
Together with other authors, I am part of Secret Garden, a project by the photographer and installation artist Alessandra Calò, published as a volume by Danilo Montanari editore (2018).
In 2024 I was among the authors selected for the Premio Elca Ruzzier in Trieste.
I have ongoing collaborations with the author Chiara Pini and the poet Viviana Fiorentino, with whom I co-founded the collective Le Ortique. I also work with Ginevra Lilli, Hélène Carlotta Lupatini and the collective ToRaise.
My collaboration with the photographer Lara Vedovato gave rise to the project Milena Milani. Un invito a guardare, dedicated to the places of this great twentieth-century author.

I published my first book of poetry Le spalle al mare (Arcipelago itaca 2021).
